Hi there, I'm Emma !

I am a Shropshire based Shiatsu Practitioner for people and horses.
My interest in complementary therapy started about 24 years ago when a horse of mine had a course of McTimoney-Chiropractic treatments. Because of the positive effects of this treatment I felt drawn to train in an equine therapy and found a fascinating Diploma in Equine Shiatsu Bodywork in 2002. The course was run by Sarah Wale (MRSSt) and Cathy Tindall (equine behaviourist & therapist) and followed an indepth two year program.
And one thing I’ve learnt in the last 20 years of being an equine bodyworker is that no two horses are the same !! So to deliver individually tailored treatments to my equine clients I’ve invested in a number of courses, including Certificates in :

Cranio-Sacral therapy; Fascial Edge Tool; Advanced Soft Tissue Techniques; Musculoskeletal Testing; Subclinical Evaluation; Gait analysis & biomechanics.

Whilst pregnant with my daughter I found Shiatsu treatments incredibly helpful and this fuelled my interest in training to become a Practitioner for people too.  Consequently I did a one year  Level 3 Certificate in Acupressure, and after three years of study I gained a Level 4 Diploma in Shiatsu from The Shiatsu College (Manchester).

I am a member of The Shiatsu Society (UK) and on the Board of Directors.

Over the last few years I’ve become more interested in the energetic connection between human and horse – building connection, creating trust and relaxation with a horse before trying to work with them in any way; working on my own ability to be mindful and present.

Horses are very sensitive to our Qi field, and I encourage clients to consider meditation, yoga or Qi Gong to aid this.

Outside of Shiatsu & horses, I have a 9 year old daughter, I enjoy reading, music, baking and an occasional expensive cup of coffee 🙂
